Which filter should you actually buy?

Filters carry a MERV rating — how fine a particle they capture. Higher isn't automatically better: a very high-MERV filter in a system not designed for it chokes airflow just like a dirty one. For most LA homes, MERV 8–11 is the sweet spot; allergy households and wildfire-prone months justify MERV 13 if the system can handle it. Can I just get my AC filters replaced with Bobbi?

How often should AC filters be changed in Los Angeles?

Every 1–3 months. LA's smog, pollen and fire seasons push most homes toward the shorter end — and during active wildfire smoke, check monthly at minimum. Pets and allergies also shorten the interval.

Do dirty AC filters really affect health?

A saturated filter stops trapping dust, pollen, dander and smoke particles, so the system recirculates them through every room. For allergy and asthma households the difference between a fresh and clogged filter is often noticeable within days.
